The Startup Success Podcast

The Startup Success Podcast

This week Bob and Pat talk to Evernote’s CEO Phil Libin and VP of Marketing Andrew Sinkov about how Evernote makes freemium profitable, how this popular startup with over 3 million users connects via social media, why Evernote is a platform, and what kinds of startups and microISVs Evernote is interested in acquiring.

If you’re one of our few listeners who don’t know about Evernote, this freemium SaaS (available on desktops, smartphones and the web) is a favorite of both Pat and Bob.

And a quick word about our new sponsor, InfluAds. If your startup’s market is other startups, web developers and designers why not reach out to them through with a small, tasteful ad at sites they already read? That’s how InfulAds works. Act now, mention “SSP” and save 20% on you first ad buy. InfluAds.com – ads for startups by a Startup.

We’d also like to thank Microsoft WebsiteSpark for being our first official show sponsor! Microsoft WebsiteSpark and StartupToDo.com have free Microsoft software for designers and a six month scholarship to StartupToDo.com you may be interested in. For details and how to apply, visit http://startuptodo.com/websitespark/.

  2. It is impressive how an online service like Evernote can grow to 2 million users in only 15 month since launch. I think it is due to the value it brings in the market, and to its wise positioning as an ‘external brain’. I get to try it soon
Anyhow, it is excellent how Bob and Patrick can produce such interesting interviews and make them available as podcast to us. Thanks for the good work
